Job Description

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Pathology Clerical Support Assistant
  • Location: Evanston Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, Days; 8:30am-5pm.
  • Required Travel: n/a

What you will need:

  • License:N/A
  • Education:High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certification:N/A
  • Experience:One year experience preferred; new grads may be considered
  • Skills:Ability to solve office and interdepartmental problems related to the Anatomic Pathology and Hematology Laboratory areas. Ability to identify problems that may affect Patient request, Outside consultations, Send outs.

What you will do:

  • Perform a variety of routine and special Office procedures as authorized by the Manager/Director

Rotate/provide coverage for all office duties performed in the department:

  • Patient requests
  • Accessioning of Outside Consultations
  • Accessioning of Molecular Consultations
  • Accessioning of Bone Marrows/Peripheral Blood
  • Answering Phone calls
  • Filing Slides and Blocks
  • Preparing cases for Tumor Board Conferences
  • Scanning Requisitions
  • Sending Out Specimens
  • Tracking Incoming/Outgoing Mail.
