Duties and Responsibilities
The part-time Senior Staff Scientist position will be responsible for the coordination of the ongoing research and training programs related to the joint initiatives between the Division of Cardiology of the Department of Medicine and the Cardiovascular Institute and its divisions. The main responsibilities of the Senior Staff Scientist will include the following:

  1. Coordination of the ongoing research programs in relation to the PERT group activities including collection of blood samples, analysis, tabulation of the data generated, banking of blood samples and planning of the biomarker analysis.
  2. Organization of the data and input in RedCap and other appropriate platforms.
  3. Analysis of collected data and periodic progress report preparation for discussions with the group.
  4. Development of protocols for specific projects for collective review and finalization.
  5. Facilitation of preparation of manuscripts, presentations and the organization of group meetings.
  6. Assistance in grant writing, submission and follow up procedures.
  7. Participation in the teaching and training programs for medical students, residents and fellows
The Staff Scientist will report to Dr.'s Fareed and Darki and will undertake other assignments related to Cardiology and CVRI research projects. The Senior Staff Scientist will also participate in educational programs and other academic activities of the Departments of Medicine and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Required: Doctoral Degree (MD or PhD)
Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Immunology, other biomedical sciences.

Minimum 2-5 years of completed mentored postdoctoral scientific training and/or 7+ years of work experience.
