As part of Detection and Measurement, Genfare is a leader in configurable fare collection systems in the public transit industry. By creating high quality equipment and payment systems to improve the rider experience, we empower equitable mobility and provide services to better connect communities.

Core Function

As the Proposal Manager, your core function is to ensure all of Genfare's proposals are fully executed from start to finish. You will be responsible for the success of the entire proposal process-including individual contributor as the main proposal writer, facilitation of the proposal review process, upholding compliance with Genfare's proposal process and RFP schedule. You will collaborate across the organization, and coordinate and edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders. A successful Proposal Manager will have strong time management skills, the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, as well as proficiency in technical writing.

The ideal candidate is flexible and adaptable, focused on details; organized and able to maintain order through rapid proposal pace or unpredictable changes in schedule.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leads coordination of proposal efforts.
  • Leads reviewing, writing and editing of proposal documents.
  • Leads proposal research and development.
  • Leads in developing proposal outlines and schedules, and in maintaining master proposal schedule.
  • Maintains a repository of proposal information on the shared drive.
  • Documents, publishes and follows-up on action items from proposal meetings.
  • Compiles and coordinates proposal information requirements from all participating departments.
  • Maintains productive relationships with business areas and associated engineering personnel to ensure efficient proposal development efforts.
  • Implements proposal development process.
  • Ensures proposal development conforms to ISO procedures, and maintains 100% compliance.
  • Analyzes Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
  • Builds compliance matrices and win themes.
  • Develops and assists with opportunity specific proposal strategy and approach.
  • Conducts status reviews with to identify and record required actions to produce proposals on schedule.
  • Monitors proposal development performance against schedules and reports status.
  • Researches and writes various sections of proposals.
  • Manages the development of technical proposals and graphics.
  • Coordinates with sales leads, program management and associated engineering personnel during the proposal development process.
  • Assists with writing Marketing content and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • BA/BS degree in English or related field
  • 5-7 years of proposal-related experience, preferably in transit or a related industry
  • Must have sound editing and technical writing skills
  • Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Familiarity with fare collection solutions preferred
