Job Description

Support development of custom analytics reports that include statistical summaries, data visualization, and data files. General responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support for reporting solutions that are beyond the range of reports available at PG
  • Produces report by executing or modifying existing programs and following development processes
  • Provides quality assurance support by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of report developers or senior CRA members, this individual will independently modify and execute on the production of developed reports.
  • Execute complex database queries to collect and transform data into organized data structures (e.g. statistical summary "cubes" with clearly structured facts and dimensions). Related tasks include maintaining and modifying programs (typically with SQL, R, or SPSS)
  • Produce well organized reports such as: data files (e.g. .csv, .xlsx), static summaries (e.g. pdf reports) , or dashboards, using appropriate tools (Excel, VBA, SPSS, R, Python, Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Maintain, a high volume of reports that are expected to be delivered error free and on-time.
  • Provides quality assurance support by reviewing programs, validating output against: a "single source of truth", reporting criteria (e.g. eligibility rules and dates), formatting criteria (e.g. field names, date formats). Adhere to QA process, track quality metrics and immediately communicate issues.
  • Accurately document, maintain and update reporting tasks and fields that are tracked on the custom reporting team's project management tool (e.g. Wrike)
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills and professionalism in collaborating and communicating with all colleagues and clients.
Qualifications

Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative discipline.

  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with SQL, SAS, R, SPSS or other high level data programming language
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with Python, VBA, C++ or other programming language
  • 1+ years executing and modifying data queries with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server) or other "Big Data" technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, AWS)
  • Basic proficiency with data visualization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $44,000to $69,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
