What You Will Do:

  • The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing basic to advanced maintenance, new equipment installations and troubleshooting actions in either the shop or field.

  • Execute the commissioning and decommissioning of multiplex pump skids and components at oil and gas well sites for use on Jet Pump artificial lift, Salt Water Disposal (SWD) Systems, and other facilities.

  • Perform repairs, troubleshoot and service multiplex pumps, commonly known as "Triplexes" and "Quintuplex-es," and its auxiliary components for operation. Including but not limited to; electric motor and their variable speed drives (VSD), safety switches, flow meters, various valves, and lubrication and sump pumps.

  • Submit service tickets for customer review.

  • Participate with on-call rotation for the facility, as required by the business.

  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area and company truck

  • Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Develop good working relationships with customers through professional communication.

  • Respond to customer calls and assist with technical questions.

  • Contribute to the department's continuous improvement culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • One year experience working on multiplex pumps and jet pump artificial lift systems or similar equipment.

  • Valid driver's license in state of residence required.

  • Must be age 21 or older to drive company vehicle.

  • Acceptable driving record.

  • Strong mechanical skills, able to perform mechanical field maintenance work to ensure optimal availability and reliability of artificial lift equipment at oil and gas wellsite locations.

  • Good oral and written communication skills, able to express thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing, using good grammar. Listens to understand input, feedback, and concerns. Provides complete information in an open, honest straightforward manner. Responds promptly and positively to questions and requests.

  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills. Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

  • Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.

  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Picks up on technical things quickly; Can learn new skills and knowledge is good at learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge; does well in technical courses and seminars.

  • Ability to troubleshoot customer issues and manage difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance.

  • Ensures accountability by taking personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.

  • Strong safety focus, able to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety, upholding safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of downhole pumps and completions.

  • Working knowledge of multi-cylinder engines.

  • Automation experience.

Physical Demand and Job Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to talk, hear, use hands and arms, walk on inclines, and uneven surfaces, work in a variety of weather conditions, and regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.

  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety boots, hard hats, hearing protection or respirators.

Work Environment:

  • Work is normally executed at customer field locations in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.

  • Some work is accomplished indoors and in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • Work may include visits to customer offices or field locations.
