Overview

Under general supervision of the Sr. Manager CQE, provides Quality Engineering services to Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Service, and Plant Quality. Plans, develops, implements, and maintains quality standards for Shure products. Ensures that quality standards and requirements are met.

Responsibilities
    Develops and implements quality assurance protocols and methods used to inspect and test finished products, sub-assemblies, and components.
  • Represents Corporate Quality Engineering by actively participating on new product development (Blue Ribbon) and/or special teams.
  • Ensures that all new products are in compliance with both Shure quality standards and applicable government regulations by performing new product evaluation testing.
  • Performs analysis and identifies root causes of non-conforming product and system deficiencies, and recommends corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conducts research and analysis tasks to evaluate quality standards and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and that established processes and procedures are followed.
  • Evaluates the efforts in documenting and interpreting inspection support documents to ensure that all Corporate Quality functions are properly documented and to assure uniformity among all Corporate Quality associates.
  • Facilitates implementation of quality tools and techniques to assure ongoing process performance, including analysis of ongoing process capabilities and proposing process improvements.
  • Generates Request for Test and Measurement (RFTM), Corrective Action & Preventive Action (RPS) reports, and Product Audit services.
  • May provide training, guidance, and support on using Quality principles and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Quality Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a comprehensive knowledge of basic audio, acoustical, and RF principles
  • ASQ Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE); Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB); Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB); Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is strongly preferred.
  • Experienced in the use of Quality Tools, for example, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), 8 Discipline (8D), Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC), Plan Do Check Act (PDCA).Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) and Weibull Analysis. Knowledge of software quality tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of working with Microsoft office products with significant focus on MS Excel
  • Able to use professional concepts and apply company policies/procedures to work on problems/issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Familiarity with self-managed cross-functional work group principles.
  • Hands on Knowledge of problem solving techniques including use of minitab software
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Team player & Self-motivated
  • Organizing skills
  • Conflict resolution skills is a must
  • Intermediate-Advanced English language proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Willing and capable of domestic and international air travel.
