JOB SUMMARY
Cleans and maintains assigned areas; moves furniture, equipment and supplies, in and around Facility Departments; maintains and cares for facility grounds; processes medical waste; and performs a variety of Environmental Services duties to maintain the facility in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
* Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish Covenant Hospital and
demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and
standards of the Hospital.
1. Sets up meeting rooms and delivers and operates audio/visual equipment according to weekly meeting schedule.
2. Operates and maintains in working order housekeeping, equipment including vacuums, automatic floor machines.
3. Directs work flow in absence of Supervisor.
4. Assists Supervisor in training employees.
5. Performs daily and terminal cleaning. Replenishes supplies. Reports necessary repairs of all patient care and ancillary areas (including patient rooms, washrooms, exam rooms, lobbies, offices, etc.) to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff and visitors.
6. Collects, transports, processes and disposes of all types of regular, hazardous and medical waste throughout the facility following established policies and procedures to assure that all waste disposals is performed in compliance with all regulatory agencies in order to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
7. Extracts and spin-cleans carpets. Washes walls, ceilings, lights, spray buffs, scrubs and refinishes hard/tile floors. Shampoo upholstered furniture and performs other project cleaning on all surfaces in order to maintain the quality of cleanliness within the facility.
