The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Tenure status will be decided based on qualifications. A successful candidate will conduct independent research in the area of neurodegenerative disease, which could include basic or translational research in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias, Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or others. There will be many opportunities and an expectation to engage in collaborations with other researchers within Northwestern, including those within the Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease, the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center, and the Les Turner ALS Center. The Division of Neuropathology is particularly strong at Northwestern, and there will be opportunities to collaborate on tissue-based investigation of neurodegeneration using patient samples and mouse models. There will also be an expectation to participate in graduate student, medical student, fellow teaching and mentoring as well as, service on department, school, or university committees.

Qualified candidates will hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree and be scientists with outstanding research accomplishments and a record of success in competing for independent research funding. This role would not include clinical responsibilities.

The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
