The Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within the division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases.

Responsibilities include partial effort to serve in the role of Assistant Medical Director of Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

The faculty member will also be expected to attend on the inpatient consultation service in Pediatric Infectious Disease seeing patients on both the general team and the transplant infectious diseases team. The specific breakdown to time is expected to be within a defined range that may vary from year to year depending to division needs. The faculty member will also be expected to attend on a periodic basis in the outpatient clinic, seeing patients in the general referral pool as well as building a panel of his/her own patients based on clinical interest/expertise.

The faculty member will be expected to participate in research activity. The scope of this research could include: independent projects of the faculty member's own choosing; specific projects within IP&C under the supervision of the Director; collaborator on other projects within or outside the division.

All members of the division receive fractional effort for their teaching and administrative duties.

Qualified candidates will be eligible to practice medicine in the State of Illinois, have completed an accredited pediatric infectious diseases fellowship program and be board certified. Board eligible candidates that have recently completed a fellowship and with plans to take the board exam in the subsequent year are also welcome. Experience in infection prevention and epidemiologic research is highly preferred but not required. Those candidates with no or little prior experience will be expected to complete the appropriate training courses and modules outlined by the Director of IP&C.
