Title: Black and Brown Club Affinity Group Sponsor
Location: Northfield Campus
Compensation: Category I Stipend (prorated to start date)
Supervisor: Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Overview:
Black and Brown Club Affinity Group is a support group for students who identify themselves as Black, African-American, Hispanic, and/or LatinX. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to receive support, in a safe environment, with others that share a similar experience. Research indicates students that have an opportunity to engage in a supportive environment at school show an increased ability to function and connect to the academic experience
Qualifications:
New Trier faculty member.
Preference will be given to applicants who identify as Black, African-American, Hispanic, and/or LatinX and/or have personal experience with or knowledge of the needs of this population.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with racial affinity group sponsors to plan and implement group sessions.
Group meets during rotating periods on a weekly basis; attendance is mandatory at all meetings.
