Do you want to apply your clinical skills to make an immediate impact in someone's mental health recovery? Thresholds Service Coordinators compassionately create partnerships with our clients as they transition from resource and housing scarcity to living with dignity in a home of their own.

You will coordinate mental health services at Thresholds, and link to other providers. Each week, you will build short-term yet impactful rapport with new people as you gather information, provide case management services and complete assessments. You may meet people initially in medical or clinical settings across Chicagoland, then as the relationship is built, meet in their homes. You will seek to understand clients' experiences from their perspective and will lower barriers to care by linking clients to appropriate services. This may include medical care, housing, and other resources to help clients achieve and maintain safe, healthy living.

To succeed in this role, you need:

  • Passion for mental health advocacy
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Some experience working in mental health.
  • Housing experience - CHA, HUD etc.
  • Good writing skills
  • Strong time management and organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and similar software systems
  • To be at least 21 years old
  • A valid driver's license, current car insurance, and daily access to your own car
  • Willingness to provide transportation to clients

Many education and experience paths are eligible for this role:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate and 5 years of supervised clinical experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and 2 years of supervised clinical experience
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
