Join our winning team as aMaintenance Mechanic in Lemont, IL.

This role works as a machine and equipment repairer and performs a variety of mechanical maintenance duties at a chemical plant. He or she will repair, recondition, rebuild, fabricate, test and perform predictive maintenance on plant equipment, tools and fixtures and also plan the sequence and method of fabrication and repair work.

Job activities may involve working near high voltage, heavy equipment, mobile equipment, moving and rotating equipment, various gases, hazardous chemicals, confined spaces, high locations (up to 150 ft.) and congested areas.

Necessity of continuous operation demands cooperation, teamwork and close attention.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five years maintenance work experience as a millwright or pipefitter (industrial setting preferred) or Journeylevel millwright or pipefitter designation. Millwright primary craft preferred. Secondary skills in additional mechanical maintenance crafts preferred.
  • A complete employment application that explains a detailed work history required (resume must cover at least 5 years' work experience in a millwright or pipefitter position)
  • Able to demonstrate basic computer skills, math and problem-solving; mechanical, numerical and verbal aptitude to learn our jobs quickly
  • Must be able to work call-ins and overtime when support is needed
  • Able to pass a functional physical testing and able to use standard safety equipment; must be able to liftup to 50 pounds
  • Able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights
  • Able to work in tight or closed-in spaces
  • Pass a physical, drug screen and background check if job offer is received and accepted
  • Must possess a valid US Driver's License and be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
