The Civil Engineer prepares engineering designs and plans and performs construction review and/or inspection in one or more of the following areas:sewer and environmental engineering; water engineering; street, highway and transportation engineering; traffic engineering; and structural engineering.

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a school
accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
2. Ability to travel independently throughout Milwaukee, either
by transit, bicycle, or automobile.

Civil Engineer I
The current salary range (Pay Range 2JN) is$74,027-$92,612annually, and the resident incentive salary range for City of Milwaukee residents is$76,248-$95,390. Appointment above the minimum is possible based upon level of experience and other qualifications and is subject to approval.
Civil Engineer II
The current salary range (Pay Range 2KN) is$79,209-$98,704annually and the resident incentive salary range for City of Milwaukee residents is$81,586-$101,665. Appointment above the minimum is possible based upon level of experience and other qualifications and is subject to approval.
In accordance with the City of Milwaukee Salary Ordinance, an employee with a Professional Engineer License will be paid an additional 3%.

THE SELECTION PROCESSwill be job related and will consist of one or more of the following: an evaluation of education, experience and/or responses to supplemental questions; a written or performance test, a structured interview or other assessment methods.
