Job Description

The Analytical Chemist/Technician is an entry level position that willperform routine analytical tests under the supervision of the senior staff and the director. In addition to routine QA/QC tests, the Analytical Chemist/Technician will aid senior staff in preparing samples for food packaging tests and analysis. As part of this position development process, the Analytical Chemist/Technician will become skilled in the use of GC-FID, GC-Mass Spectrometry, FTIR, DSC and particle size analysis.

As an Analytical Chemist/Technician you will be responsible for:

  • Performing routine analytical tests with strict adherence to SOP and GLP
  • Assistinghigher level Chemists by conducting raw material and manufactured good analysis.
  • Exhibitingwritten and verbal communication skills by maintaining an experiment notebook and preparing data and results for review by higher level Chemists and/or the Lab Manager
  • Preparingstandard solutions for analysis
  • Performing non-routine analytical tests, when necessary
  • Calibratingand maintaining equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment according to 5S guideline sand 5S Best Practices at the respective facility
  • Maintain calibration standards.
Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:

  • Pay close attention to detail.
  • Have an associate degree in chemistry and 2-3 years' experience; or BA or BS in Chemistry or science with 0-3 years' experience.
  • Be proficient in MS Office
  • Demonstrate strong mathand science skills.
  • Be a proficient record keeper.
  • Have good and effective written, reading comprehension and verbalskills.
  • Understand probability and statistical inference and use of Mass Spec software is desirable.
  • Knowlege of quantitative analysis is desirable.
  • Knowlege of food packaging and migration is desirable.
