The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, in collaboration Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator with an allied health background at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The position is based at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, with opportunities for collaboration with other Northwestern University Departments and affiliated institutions.

Responsibilities include:
1. Develops and submits research proposals and grant applications to secure external research funding from agencies such as the NIH, VA, NIDILRR, DoD, NSF and private foundations.
2. Publishes original studies in refereed journals that advance our understanding of implementation science, and knowledge translation related to disabling conditions.
3. Ensures that scientific and regulatory milestones of specific projects are met.
4. Demonstrates leadership activity in professional organizations related to implementation science.
5. Contributes to the education of highly qualified personnel including graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, medical students, and residents.
6. Participates in and collaborate on Department activities, as requested by the Department Chair.
7. Maintains a small, focused clinical practice in a rehabilitation specialty.

Qualified candidates:
1. PhD degree in a scientific discipline from an accredited school and knowledge of implementation science principles acquired through formal training.
2. Successful completion of at least 2 years of postdoctoral fellowship training.
3. Five or more years of research experience in rehabilitation-related implementation science and health systems research.
4. Active federal funding, R01-preferred.
5. Expertise in neurologic rehabilitation supported by 5 or more years of clinical practice.
6. Allied health clinician with first-hand experience in health systems practice and research.
7. Strong interdisciplinary communication skills, including working with and leading heterogeneous teams including clinicians, engineers, and neuroscience researchers.
8. Organizational and national leadership experience.
9. Reputation as strong or emerging leader in field with sustained performance and accomplishment.
10. Requires proficiency in writing to prepare grant proposals, research reports and other publications, and explain complex results to a lay audience.
11. Commitment to teaching and teaching ability are requirements

The start date is May 1, 2024, and the position will remain open until February 29, 2024.
