What You'll Do
  • Demonstrate leadership and customer service consistent with CMC's Values.
  • Aid the Area Engineering Manager in assignment of new work to the detailing team.
  • Create and maintain up to date training materials and records.
  • Monitor employee productivity, providing training and mentorship, and answer detailing questions.
  • Review drawings to ensure documents are accurate and up to standards, with emphasis placed on staff who is less experienced.
  • Oversee efforts to ensure that CMC fulfills contractual obligations on the assigned project(s) and review all RFI's and change orders
  • Aid the Area Engineering Manager in setting yearly performance goals for both individuals and the team.
  • Resolve daily issues that may arise effectively to ensure a timely, safe, and profitable project
  • Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
  • Prepare monthly reports for management related to individual detailer and overall team performance.
  • Review and approve timecards for detailing staff.
  • Perform light detailing work as needed.
What You'll Need
  • Practical experience detailing in the rebar industry, utilizing MicroStation or AutoCad.
  • Has an understanding of concrete construction and exposure to large construction projects
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents and drawing
  • Good Organizational and Leadership skills
  • Solid understanding of project costs/cost control with strong financial and business acumen
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong scheduling, planning, organizing, problem solving, time managing, and prioritizing work skills
  • Creative thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Training, Scheduling, Planning, and Time management
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following area: Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Business Administration and/or minimum 5 years in the reinforcing steel/construction industry
