Chemist
Location: Lake County / North Chicago, IL - ONSITE
Contract: 1 year with possible extension
**Ideal candidate will probably either come from an academic lab where they purified proteins in a technician role or might come from a CMO where they did small scale protein purification to support process development.**
Requirements:
* BS/BA in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology or related field with 2-5 yrs biochemistry lab experience or Masters Degree.
* Experience in Protein Chromatography (SEC, Ion exchange, RPLC. Experience with a chromatography data system is a plus, but not required, we will train.
* Understanding of how to use analytical instruments including HPLC and electrophoresis for separations.
* Solid documentation skills, familiarity with electronic lab notebook a plus.
* Able to present findings to larger groups.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and execute assigned laboratory tasks utilizing standard procedures and technical understanding of various techniques to complete assigned tasks.
* Develop protocols for more complex tests or experiments performed with less defined assays and parameters.
* Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and instrument related systems.
* Presents conclusions of defined experiments.
* Ensures safety requirements are met when performing tasks.
* Ensures timely compliant delivery of high quality precise data
