The goal of the Cboe Cloud Engineering group focuses around building a scalable and secure foundations platform, enabling the Cboe operations, software engineering and application teams to deploy, validate, and operate their services in production, improve resiliency of the service and increase organizational efficiency by reducing operational toil and increase system efficiency through architectural evolution.

The Manager of the Cloud Engineering Team will play a pivotal role in driving the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role will lead a team of cloud engineers responsible for building scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions using tools such as infrastructure as code (IaC), container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, AWS services, and other relevant technologies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of cloud engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on AWS.

  • Lead the architectural design of cloud solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security best practices are incorporated.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and ensure successful delivery of cloud projects.

  • Drive the adoption of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and practices, leveraging tools such as Terraform and Pulumi to automate and standardize infrastructure deployments.

  • Establish and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of the cloud platform.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the Cloud Platform Team and across the organization.

Job Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience with major Cloud vendors including AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure, with strong expertise in AWS.

  • Proven experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment with a record of project delivery and architecture of production systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture principles, best practices, and design patterns.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud automation tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, and Jenkins.

  • Proficiency in container orchestration technologies, especially Kubernetes.

  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance requirements in cloud environments.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Thorough understanding of the financial markets a plus

  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent, are highly desirable.

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of starting base salary for this role is $136,000-$224,400. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
