What started as a regional commercial printer is today a national, industry-leading provider of direct marketing solutions. We are currently looking for General Workers for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) & 3rd shift (11pm-7am) to assist press crews in performing a wide variety of manual tasks in the pressroom.


JOB DUTIES:

  1. Assemble and Label cartons as specified for the specific order or form being run.
  2. Place product in cartons, seal and place on pallets.
  3. Move finished loads away from the press delivery using a hand operated pallet jack.
  4. Assist in operation and set up of delivery equipment.
  5. Assist in press paper web up on make-ready and at web breaks.
  6. Assist in blanket washes, cleaning rollers, glue units or press parts.
  7. Assist in bringing ink or other materials to the press as needed.
  8. Assist in keeping the press work area clean.
  9. Assist in preparing rags for laundry by spinning them in centrifuge to remove liquid.
  10. General clean-up of pressroom area as needed.
  11. Duty to learn the skills to move up to the next skill position in the pressroom.
  12. Other duties as may be assigned by 1st pressman, shift supervisor, or plant superintendent.


Requirements

JOB SKILLS:

Basic math, mechanical and communication skills.


JOB KNOWLEDGE:
  1. Basic knowledge of printing press operations helpful.
  2. Additional detail is provided in the Skills and Knowledge Matrix.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Safety training as required by OSHA regulations. Operation of the Segerdahl Data Collection System. On the job training in the specific duties of the job.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently. Able to stand for eight to twelve hours per day. Must possess full range of motor/motion skills in all body areas.
