The Copywriter generates marketing copy to be used across multiple platforms and formats to increase awareness, understanding and engagement among the University 's targeted audiences. This person uses their creativity and knowledge to balance and solve messaging, audience, branding and other content needs. This position is responsible for the strategic direction of promoting the University's programs for marketing and recruitment.
1. Create a content strategy for Saint Xavier academic programs to support marketing and recruitment of individual programs.
2. Provide copy for selected communication channels, including print, digital ads, online profiles, social media, email, video scripts, etc., and ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for each channel.
3. Create A/B split testing opportunities wherever possible, with the goal of continuous evolvement of messaging and strategy.
4. Conduct ongoing analytic initiatives in order to gauge content effectiveness. Gather data and make recommendations based on those results.
5. Creatively look for opportunities to improve content.
6. Review, edit and rewrite as necessary submitted content to meet prescribed style guidelines and optimize specific type of medium as necessary following the appropriate writing style for each medium.
7. Collaborate with marketing communications staff, graphic designers, interns and student workers.
8. Collaborate with media team to develop media plans, ad copy and commercial copy for relevant campaigns.
9. Proof all projects during various stages of development.
10. Attend University committees, meetings and events as needed to provide support for developing messages.
11. Other duties as assigned.
