Job Description

The PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR will supervise employees to maximize safety, quality, and productivity. Key responsibilities include daily production scheduling, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Assures correct preparation of products and finished goods. Shared responsibility for new methods e.g. 5 S, standardized work, and methods improvements.

This position is a floating role. The employee will work their base shift of 9:00 am-5:30 pm Monday - Friday with 2 Saturdays a month along with the requirement of covering 1st shift (5 am-3 pm) and 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 11:00 pm), based upon the needs of the department.

This position will require the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Develop and operate within SOPs
  • Lot control, inventory accuracy, and reporting
  • Safety (line inspections, department safety audits, safety meetings)
  • Quality (high quality production, quality audits, clean environment) HACCP, Verification of CCP's
  • Cost/Production efficiency, maintenance, strategic planning for the continuation of production
  • Sanitation and housekeeping
  • Employee relations issues

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in the food or beverage manufacturing industry required.
  • College degree is preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate employees

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Manufacturing environment with some allergen products

  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
  • The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat.

ACCOUNTABILITIES CHECKLIST
