System Director, Revenue Integrity

Position Highlights:

  • Position: System Director, Revenue Integrity
  • Location: Skokie

  • Hours: 40 hours

What you will do:

  • Responsible for operational management and administration of fiscal matters pertaining to revenue integrity
  • Leads and develops the Regional Revenue Integrity teams, including hiring, training, goal setting, and performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Ensures adherence to applicable governmental and payer regulations through clinical documentation audits
  • Directs charge capture, charge reconciliation and other reimbursement matters for hospital service lines across 3 instances of Epic
  • Participates in planning revenue integrity alignment efforts in preparation for the move to a single Epic instance
  • Directs the education, auditing, monitoring and support of revenue functions
  • Provides support and direction for charge integrity audits, claims processing denials, and compliance monitoring
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for charge integrity and stability in revenue with service line leaders across the health system
  • Performs reporting and analysis of revenue related data and supports revenue related process improvement
  • Partners with health system clinical, operational and information technology leaders to develop, implement and maintain strategies and tools to prevent revenue leakage and ensure consistent business operations
  • Partners with compliance to support audit related recommendations and denials mitigation
  • Provides expertise as it relates to billing compliance for new and existing services, while maintaining compliance with organizational, federal, state and third party requirements
  • Optimizes revenue by performing appropriate reviews, investigating trends and patterns, and providing education regarding charge capture, charge reconciliation and billing guidelines
  • Monitors adherence to best practice operations and process flows, recommends changes as necessary, and sees them through implementation

What you will need:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in nursing, business administration, finance, or related field; master's degree in business, health administration or related field
  • Experience:
    • Approximately ten (10) years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management
    • 5 years of leadership experience in patient finance, hospital or professional coding and/or revenue cycle consulting in a managerial position required, with prior experience in hospital revenue integrity preferred
  • Certification:
    • RN, BSN, CIC, CCS, CPC designations are highly desirable; certification in auditing and/or health care compliance preferred
