Summary


Saint Xavier University is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Admission. This position is pivotal in supporting the University's athletic programs through the recruitment efforts for student-athletes. This position collaborates in the development, execution, and assessment of a comprehensive student-athlete recruitment and communication plan. The position also manages a student-athlete recruitment applicant pool, leads activities related to establishing quality relationships with area high schools, provides high-quality student service to prospective student-athletes, builds quality relationships with Saint Xavier faculty and staff, and contributes to a collegial, goal-oriented, and positive work environment

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Athlete Recruitment:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive athlete recruitment strategies to attract talented student-athletes to Saint Xavier University.
    • Advise prospective student athlete applicants (international, U.S. citizens or permanent residents), faculty and staff regarding admission and transfer credit.
    • Collaborate with coaches and athletic department staff to identify recruitment needs and target regions.
    • Conduct outreach activities, including visits to high schools, attendance at athletic events, and engagement with potential recruits.

  • Application and Admission Support:
    • Assist prospective student-athletes through the application and admissions process.
    • Provide information on academic programs, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities.

  • Data Tracking and Reporting:
    • Help maintain accurate records of athlete recruitment activities and scholarship awards.
  • Campus Visits and Events:
    • Coordinate and participate in campus visits, recruitment events, and showcases to highlight the University's athletic programs.
    • Collaborate with admission and athletic department staff to create a positive and engaging experience for prospective student-athletes.
  • Communication and Relationship Building:
    • Cultivate relationships with high school coaches, athletic organizations, and community partners to support recruitment efforts.
    • Communicate effectively with recruits, parents, and other stakeholders to provide information and address inquiries.

    • Collaboration with Athletic Department:
      • Work closely with the athletic department to align recruitment efforts with program goals and objectives.
      • Attending department meetings and contributing to discussions related to athlete recruitment and scholarship management.
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Minimum two years' experience in college admission.
    • Previous experience in athlete recruitment or related roles.
    • The ability to manage and organize multiple projects simultaneously is necessary.
    • Familiarity with NAIA regulations and compliance standards.
    • Strong computer skills using relational databases and MS Office with expertise in Excel necessary.
    • Experience using Ellucian Colleague and Technolutions Slate database systems is preferred.
    • Strong analytic ability, creativity and organizational skills required.
