Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Sales Estimator to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be supporting multiple large data center accounts domestically and will be a primary focused on creating quotes and assembling costs for specific project types. The role is a technical role and will be primarily responsible for cost impact detail including; assembling bill-of-materials, and general pre-sales collaboration. As a Sales Estimator, you are a part of a dynamic sales team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

  • In-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and team collaboration in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements.
  • Prepare pricing estimates for each project utilizing estimation software tools. Represent the data center team as the subject matter experts with CTC's.
  • Understand requirements and articulate the basis of the pricing estimate with the CTC's.
  • Collect and compile vendor and manufacturer quotes support the best value proposition of the pricing estimate.
  • Support the data center and CTC account executives with operations and executive reviews prior to pricing submissions.
  • Produce and represent a sound pricing estimate to the data center and CTC teams.
  • Assist the data center estimating team with the ongoing development and usage of estimating tools.
  • Travel as required to support customer site visits, team collaboration events, CTC meetings, various job walks & site meetings

What You'll Need

  • Exceptional job focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the team without being prompted
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to electronic security systems
  • Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), BlueBeam, SmartSheet
  • Proven track record of being able to coordinate with multiple parties on multiple projects simultaneously

What To Expect

  • Interviews will be conducted in three phases and result in a minimum of four interviews
    • Interview with data center Lead Estimator (1st initial interview)
    • Interview with data center account executive(s) (2nd interview which may potentially be 2+ separate interviews)
    • Interview with the data center estimating Team (3rd interview)
    • Interview with the data center Lead Estimator & Vice President (Final interview and potential offer letter detailing)
  • Time will be taken between each interview step to allow the data center team to collaborate and determine approval for the applicant to move to the next interview step in the process.
  • Should you be the selected as the desired applicant, time will be taken to receive approval from the CDC for data center team expansion. Being the desired applicant and accepting the discussion of the offer letter details does not guarantee an offer letter nor employment.

Requirements:

Education: Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum Experience: 2+ years of previous Sales, engineering, and/or Project Management experience.
