The Opportunity:

Join us as a Senior Staff Data Scientist and unlock the hidden potential within vast GIF views and metadata. You'll lead the charge in discovering valuable insights, fueling new business opportunities, enhancing our products, and elevating our content metrics and KPIs. Collaborate closely with diverse teams, harness data-driven insights, and steer our organization toward growth and success. Your expertise will focus on data mining, statistical analysis, ad targeting, subscription-based models, and internationalization efforts, shaping the future of Giphy.

The Day to Day:

• Conduct in-depth investigations leveraging large and complex data sets.

• Identify new business opportunities, revenue streams, and growth potential through data analysis and modeling.

• Collaborate with product teams to improve existing products, enhance user experiences, and drive product innovation.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive content metrics to measure the effectiveness of our content strategies.

• Elevate data collection procedures to encompass crucial information for advanced analytics.

• Leverage solid applied statistics skills, encompassing distributions, statistical testing, regression, and more.

• Collaborate with data engineers to develop innovative data pipelines.

• Work with a diverse toolkit, including SQL, BigQuery, Scala, Python, Spark, Databricks, Redshift, Spectrum, GA4, Tableau, and AWS.

What you'll bring to the role:

• +5 years of professional experience in a data science role, demonstrating dependability and commitment.

• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members while fostering inclusivity. Experience as a people manager is a plus.

• Strong experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

• Being responsive to evolving needs.

• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Python.

• Strong applied statistics skills, including experience with distributions, statistical testing, regression, and more.

• Ability to methodically understand business context, define value propositions, and formulate and solve complex data science problems with minor guidance from technical leaders.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and actionable manner.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion.

• Innovative mindset with a passion for exploring and discovering new business opportunities.

• Enthusiastic and hard-working, with the ability to think clearly under pressure both individually and in a team environment.
