Salary/Grade: EXS/6

Target hiring range for this position will be between $55,128-$68,911 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Job Summary:

* Reviews and approves payroll transactions in myHR and OnBase

* Provides recommendations to departments based on policies and rules of payroll

* Provides ongoing training and support to departments

Specific Responsibilities:

Budget:

* Prepares analysis & reports.

* Assists with budget projects.

Analysis, Statements & Reporting:

* Maintains, and updates financial models and analysis related to payroll suspense, journal transactions, and minimum salary requirements

* Assists with Annual Salary planning process

* Reviews departmental access

* Maintains SAUs for Faculty and Research Staff

Transactions:

* Provides review and oversight of many types of payroll transactions many of which may be complex.

* Acts as one of school's primary point of contact regarding all payroll policies & procedures

* Troubleshoots problems, obtains additional information from or provides instruction & guidance for customers, corrects or escalates.

* Works with departments and affiliates on additional payments

Administration:

* Completes special financial projects

* Monitors and addresses incoming inquiries in FSM Payroll inbox

* Creates monthly payroll calendar

* Assists with Finance and Administration website and SharePoint including content for Payroll section

* Monitors and addresses incoming inquiries and adds content to Payroll Community of Practice

* Maintains Payroll-related listservs

Training:

* Assists with training of Feinberg School of Medicine employees

* Assists with development and dissemination of training materials

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as accounting, business administration, finance, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

* 2 years financial, budgeting &/or preparing account reconciliations or financial statements along with financial analysis or other relevant experience.

Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

* Proficiency in math and excellent computer skills including proficiency in the use of Excel, myHR, and NUFinancials

* Familiarity with financial reporting and payroll queries

* Ability to handle high volume demands and work effectively on tight timetables

Preferred Qualifications:

* Extensive experience with NU's myHR system

* 2 years of experience in payroll administration

Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

* Proficiency in NU myHR system, myHR query, NUFinancials, customer service, ability to multi-task.

* Experience with Microsoft 365 applications
