About the unit

The Corewell Health - Grand Rapids/Michigan State University Family Medicine Residency is a three-year program with six positions available each year. As part of their training our residents work in both urban and rural hospitals and outpatient clinics. As family physicians, we take care of the community we live in and we commit to tailoring our practice to the needs of the community. About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

Responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of an assigned group of patients. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager and other members of the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat the patient's responses to actual or potential health conditions. Assesses, monitors, detects, plans, and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications associated with specific health problems and / or medical treatment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Nursing or Equivalent Required
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) must be obtained within 5 years for those who start in this RN role on or after January 1, 2017
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
  • 1 year of experience as an RN Preferred
