Patient Connection Representative

The successful candidate:

Hours: Mon - Fri 7:00am - 3:30pm

Location: Downtown Chicago, IL

*This is not a remote position

The Patient Connection Rep will triage phone calls to ensure warm transfer or resolution per department guidelines; provide clerical support between patients, caregivers, physicians, care managers and clinical service departments with routine clerical and administrative tasks; document coordination; and ordering supplies. The position promotes teamwork, nurtures relationships with others and is viewed positively by co-workers. Communicates clearly, concisely, and courteously in a timely manner. Demonstrates professional behavior and appearance, respect for patient privacy and confidentiality in all contacts with patients, caregivers, vendors and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;

  • Two (2) years customer service experience;

  • Experience with electronic medical records;

  • Knowledge of medical information and terminology

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Multi-tasking, flexibility, telephone skills, time management, organization, attention to detail;

  • Proficient typing/keyboard skills required;

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);

  • Some knowledge of medical terminology preferred;

  • Requires a great deal of independent contact with patients and their caregivers;

  • Individuals must have the ability to assess situations where other levels of clinical intervention may be necessary
