The Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (DEM) at City of Hope provides care and conducts research on a variety of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including but not limited to: Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, thyroid cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, and cancer-related endocrine disorders.

The Department of DEM manages approximately 4,500 individual patients annually including 7,500 outpatient visits and 6,500 inpatient visits. The Department has eleven faculty and hosts a training site for ACGME fellowship training program. The faculty working in the Department will have the opportunity to participate in the research activities in the Beckman Research Institute and the Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute at City of Hope.
