Overview

The primary role of the US Senior Safety Manager is to create and implement policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations Company safety work rules. The position assists in ensuring we maintain our reputable safety scores. The position will be responsible to ensure a safe working environment through policy creation, perform safety audits, share safety committee best practices and to deliver safe results.

Responsibilities
    Leads and oversees all aspects of development, implementation, standardization of processes, and management of the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, including but not limited to OSHA requirements and standards.
  • Prepares and submits required OSHA and Company Safety reports to Leadership and the field.
  • Conducts incident investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of action items, and leverage learning across organization for all incidents and injuries, accident and near misses. Provides planned training for facility evacuations, active shooter, and company safety work rules.
  • Reviews pending and upcoming changes to OSHA regulations to ensure the Company is prepared for future compliance requirements. Develop and communicate impact summaries of future regulatory changes to Executive and operations management teams.
  • Seeks out Logistics industry best safety practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve operational excellence in incident prevention and compliance.
  • Conduct field audits, inspections, and safety training, along with being an active participant in station and department safety committees.
  • Ensures that all newly hired personnel have met all onboarding and training requirements before they begin working. This includes office and warehouse personnel and work environment training and equipment certifications.
  • Maintain and seek personal industry certifications to enhance the Company's Environment, Health and Safety performance with focus on the Company's Core Values.
  • Creates Environment, Health, Safety goals, objectives and KPI's, ensuring regular and effective communications on progress at an Executive and companywide level.

Other Skills We Hope to See:

  • Bachelor's degree in the EH&S management field, environmental engineering, or equivalent experience required.
  • 7+ years of hands-on professional EH&S experience is required.
  • Prior experience in transportation or warehousing safety, and/or multi-site management experience is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations at the local, state, and federal levels is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, managing and achieving the expectations of multiple stakeholders.
