Director of IT - Global Functions

This position is responsible for delivering technology solutions for the Global Functional Leaders in Legal, HR, Finance, Medical Affairs, Corporate Affairs and Communications. The leader is accountable for ensuring value realization for all IT services and activities delivered. They will lead a team of direct reports that engage in the business to create an IT strategy aligned to business value. The leader is responsible for the implementation and support of usable, viable, and valuable products that meet business needs throughout the lifecycle of the products.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for IT outcomes and value creation from technology investments in HR, Legal, Finance, Medical Affairs, Corporate Affairs and Communications. Define and report progress and status in terms of business and customer outcomes to show value creation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the business leaders to define the strategic direction for technology enablement and digital adoption.
  • Collaborate with other IT leaders to ensure overall technology roadmaps remain aligned.
  • Optimize the delivery model for new development and rationalize applications with redundant capabilities.
  • Manage a team of internal and external resources including software vendors and managed service providers.
  • Bring innovation through active leadership in research and ideation, driving the development and adoption of next-generation technologies and business practices that can generate value to the company.
  • Champion change by promoting and driving new ways of working across IT and with business partners and customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience in the life sciences industry, including 5+ years as a trusted IT business partner and advisor.
  • Proven ability to work with multiple geographies in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability and maturity to communicate and manage stakeholders up to the highest levels of the organization globally, regionally, and locally.
  • Ability to apply technology to business opportunities and explain the benefits of technology in a way that business leaders can understand and react to.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to convey and collaborate around the development of desired functionality, particularly with cloud applications.
  • Excellent functional process knowledge and business acumen in the HR, Legal, Finance, Medical Affairs and Communications areas.
  • Working experience with Agile approach and culture; understanding of SAFe (Agile at scale) approach is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience managing third-party IT providers and 10+ years of experience managing people.
  • Ability to set action plans for their team and manage in a matrixed environment
  • Strong understanding of regulations in the life sciences industry (quality, security, data privacy).

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $184,000 - $276,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive .
