City Experiences is seeking a Accounts Payable Specialist for our operations in Chicago, IL.

The successful accounts payable specialist assists in the Accounts Payable function for the assigned cities/business units to ensure consistently high levels of quality, service and focus on profitability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inputs vendor invoices and expense reports into the accounting system.
  • Ensures all invoices input into the accounting system are mathematically accurate, coded to the proper account and properly approved for payment
  • Reviews invoices and expense reports for compliance with Company policies and for assessment of applicable state and city use tax
  • Issues checks to vendors in a timely manner
  • Maintains filing of support for various invoices, credit card, and local checking account transactions
  • Researches & responds timely to all inquiries from vendors and internal staff as it relates to vendor payments and P&L charges
  • Supports other members of the AP Team in the printing, packing, and mailing of the Company's weekly check runs
  • Assists in the tracking of capital expenditures, repair & maintenance projects, fuel costs, and other cost analyses as requested
  • Monitors electronic bank transactions in real time and assists in obtaining and filing support for all relevant transactions processed through the bank site
  • Researches Unclaimed Property filings with the AP team and prepares the transactions for filing with the applicable state
  • Participates in special projects as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Prior Accounts Payable experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College courses or degree a plus.
  • Work in an organized manner
  • Maintains a reliable and consistent schedule
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Consistently meet tight deadlines
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Manage multiple priorities/tasks
  • Work independently
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility
  • Accurate data entry
  • Work with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
