Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Part-time Financial Assistant for the Evanston campus.

Temporary Job Description:

• Provides day-to-day financial & accounting support using an advanced knowledge of applicable skills, methods & practices & some innovation, analysis, & reasoning to choose appropriate alternatives from among pre-defined policies & procedures to complete work that includes successive steps & involves some non-routine problems &/or decisions. Applies industry and professional standards, university policy and procedure, federal and state laws and other regulations. Provides administrative &/or clerical support. Additionally, the temporary Financial Assistant is responsible for....
• Accounting policy & procedure
• Accounts payable
• Expense reimbursement
• Processing Payments
• Purchase Orders
• Wire transfers
• Financial Data Entry and Upkeep
• Budget Statements Reconciliation
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Accounting or the equivalent combination, training and experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in a financial support function.
• 1-2 years of administrative experience in an academic setting.
• Experience with account reconciliation
• Experience with Payroll
• Helpful, respectful, approachable, building a positive work environment, receptive to feedback, demonstrates ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
