Varian is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect - Monitoring to join Global Cloud Operations at Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, in support of our Managed Services global business. As part of a team of Solution Architects, you will be the subject matter expert in Monitoring. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of our medical software applications deployed in Varian's public and private Cloud environments and services.

Your expertise will directly impact patient care and the efficiency of our healthcare systems by the integration and continuous improvement of monitoring to provide observability to new and legacy applications and services. You will continue to engineer the platform, plan deployments, scale success, achieve business value faster, accelerate adoption across business lines and set practices and processes around observability. The position will receive direction from the Senior Manager of Solutions Integration, Global Cloud Operations.

The successful candidate will collaborate with many teams, including but not limited to Engineering, Service, Operations, Network, DevOps, TechOps, IT, Product Management and Security teams. Additionally, elaborating on projects and keeping timelines, good documentation, internal users training, and keeping stakeholders informed.

You are responsible for:

Designing for best-in-class Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Implementing and maintaining Dynatrace monitoring solutions.

  • Designing and customizing the platform based on user needs.

  • Helping dive into application performance, infrastructure, and user experience with respective development, service, and operation teams (SRE, TechOps, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Security, Operations, Service...)

  • Identifying bottlenecks, anomalies, and potential issues proactively, as well as prioritize remediation.

  • Orchestrating, designing, and setting rules and policies for multiple product lines to play in harmony on centralized tenants.

Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigating escalated incidents, performance degradations, and outages using Dynatrace insights.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.

  • Conducting deep-dive analysis to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Performance Tuning and Scalability:

  • Helping fellow Solution Architects, Development and Operations teams to optimize application performance by fine-tuning configurations based on Dynatrace data.

  • Working closely with development teams to enhance scalability and responsiveness.

  • Providing guidance on load testing and capacity planning.

Security and Compliance:

  • Leveraging Dynatrace security features to monitor for vulnerabilities and threats.

  • Ensuring compliance with global and regional standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, HITRUST, ISO, NIST) by monitoring sensitive data access.

  • Collaborating with security teams to address any security-related findings.

Automation and Scripting:

  • Developing custom Dynatrace scripts and automation workflows.

  • Automating routine tasks related to monitoring setup, alerting, and reporting.

  • Integrating Dynatrace with other tools in our DevOps pipeline.

Knowledge Sharing and Training:

  • Acting as the go-to resource for Dynatrace-related queries within the organization.

  • Conducting training sessions for development and operations teams on Dynatrace best practices.

  • Documenting processes, guidelines, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Dynatrace Certification (Associate, Professional, or Expert level). Dynatrace GRAIL experience

  • Proven experience in implementing and managing Dynatrace in complex environments, including GRAIL.

  • Experience with Application Development Lifecycle Management

  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, medical applications, and regulatory requirements.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure mainly), container orchestration (Kubernetes), Windows OS,

  • Virtualization Technologies, AD, SQL.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Great presentation and communication skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in a regulated medical environment

  • Deep troubleshooting experience of applications and virtualized servers in Azure

  • API work experience

  • Experience with coding languages like JavaScript

  • Dynatrace Expert Certification

  • Azure experience and certifications, or other relevant certification with virtualization technologies

  • ARIA and Eclipse / other Varian software strongly desired

The base pay range for this position is

Min $104,600 - Max $188,400

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
