HR Services Lead

The Human Resources Services Lead will lead the HR specialists in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of HR data within the organization. This role provides guidance to and/or may assist team members in ensuring data quality in HR systems. This role ensures effective, efficient, and accurate administration while providing a positive customer service experience. This role gathers and maintains accurate and complete records, making sure they are completed in accordance both with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and system policies and procedures.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: HR Services Lead

  • Location: Skokie, IL

  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

What you will do:

  • Ensure staff is maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation to ensure compliance and effective, efficient, and accurate administration of employees.

  • Ensure staff is conducting audits and performing corrections/updates where needed.

  • Support and may lead efforts to expand or introduce new services and programs.

  • Provide mentoring, guidance and training to less experienced team members.

  • Provide work direction, input into performance reviews, and corrective action within defined parameters. May have input into hiring decisions.

  • Recommend, support, and may lead team member, departmental, and quality quality/performance improvement activities.

  • Refer complex matters to appropriate centers of expertise and/or HRIS management as appropriate and using established escalation procedures.

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to employment law and area(s) of specialization.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; Associates degree with at least seven years of relevant human resource administration.

  • Certification: n/a

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of human resource administration experience.

    • 2+ years managing, mentoring, and/or coordinating the work of others

    • Prior experience working with Workday HCM, preferred

    • Prior experience working with ServiceNow Case and Knowledge Management, preferred.

  • Unique or Preferred Skills:

    • Broad knowledge of human resources administrative processes and best practices.

    • Deeper knowledge of a wide range of human resources administrative processes and best practices.

    • Thorough understanding of employment laws, regulations and guidelines.

    • Comfortable making decisions and working in ambiguous situations

    • Excellent customer service skills.

    • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
