Reporting to the site director, you will be a member of our Bedford Park, Illinois Flavor Operations Management Team being responsible for production manufacturing. Control production of flavors (Fruits and Vegetables), material flow, and inventory to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules of the production lines. You will improve production processes on basis of LEAN methods.

  • Leadership: A considerable degree of leadership, cooperation, and influence is required to accomplish team and site goals. Determine basic operating policies; establish initiatives and tasks to achieve site objectives. Make independent decisions on most operational issues on a daily basis along with established company policies. Develop high-performing work teams through coaching, training, and engaging team members through cascading of goals, visual performance boards, performance management, and communications of factory changes and performance. Support employee involvement in safety, analytical problem-solving, lean initiatives to foster a teamwork atmosphere.

  • Accountability: Accountable for the safety, health, and welfare of the operational workforces and for maintaining excellent customer service and quality performance. Facilitate initiatives to ensure gross profit, and operational cost efficiencies. Evaluate staff performance and take appropriate action, retention and succession planning taking into account that decisions made as a result of your recommendations affect business volumes, personnel, customers and other departments.Manage the production of intermediate or finished flavor products ensuring that all materials are produced and packaged on time and compliant to the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices and safety standards.

  • Operations/Production Management: Maintain highest operations standard with regards to product quality, resource utilization, manufacturing efficiencies, operational safety and environmental protection. Implement initiatives and drive improvement to achieve personal and Operations team performance objectives. Contacts are made with customers, consultants, trainers, and engineering support firms, government and regulatory bodies as necessary.Enhance machinery and equipment in collaboration with the engineering department. Identify/solve process and product related problems. Work in close collaboration with other operations departments.

You?

  • University degree in chemical/science/business with leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations with progressive experience in people management
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX).
  • Understanding of ISO, FSCC, Food Safety (HACCP, AIB or equivalent), GHP and GMP requirements, EHS.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing with working knowledge of chemical or food processing, manufacturing system and logistics management.
  • Understanding of ISO, Food Safety (HACCP or AIB), GMP requirements
  • Understanding of business process/system redesign/change management
