Position Summary:
The Senior Attorney Compensation Accountant calculates, audits, and communicates compensation changes to attorneys and and retirees Firmwide. This position supports the Senior Attorney Compensation Manager in the implementation and management of attorney compensation structures. The Senior Attorney Compensation Accountant works under minimal supervision and relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.


As Senior Attorney Compensation Accountant, you will:
- Incorporate performance data into compensation decisions and reward mechanisms
- Maintain accurate records of attorney performance and compensation data and documentation of compensation decisions
- Implement and manage attorney compensation structures, including base salaries, bonuses, profit sharing, and equity participation
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, senior leadership and other stakeholders regarding compensation matters
- Conduct analysis and modeling to assess the financial impact of proposed compensation changes and strategic initiatives
- Identify trends, patterns, and outliers to inform compensation decisions and strategies
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of capital and attorney compensation-related general ledger accounts
- Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts to provide insight on variances for senior leadership
- Collaborate with Payroll, Accounting, HR, IT, Tax and Finance on cross-functional attorney compensation affairs
- Identify opportunities for improvement of procedures and practices
- Assist with the maintenance of the firm's reporting tools
- Prepare miscellaneous journal entries on an ad hoc basis


Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least five (5) years of related work experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage and analyze large data sets
- Ability to adapt and manage concurrent projects; maintain day to day deliverables
- Ability to collaborate with peers and be resourceful when necessary in a data fluid environment

Expected Pay Range in Orange County $114,200 - $155,500
Expected Pay Range in Los Angeles $120,000 - $163,000
Expected Pay Range in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and New York $125,100 - $170,000

Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
