Laboratory Supervisor

The successful candidate:

Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee the operational activities of the assigned department(s) ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and regulatory agencies requirements.

  • Maintain technical expertise to evaluate, instruct and assist laboratory staff in day-to-day operations on an as needed basis.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Director and Medical Director and assist in decision-making and troubleshooting.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the applicable designated area of the laboratory.

  • Supervisory experience preferred, but not required.

  • Experience in transfusion services and cellular therapy highly preferred

Certification:

  • MLS preferred.

Skills:

  • Professional demeanor, effective collaboration and communication skills ensuring teamwork with co-workers, nursing staff, and physicians.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Attributes: ASCP certification, supervisory experience, and graduate degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
