  • Full Time

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

  • Hybrid Schedule

  • Oncall rotation: 7 days coverage, rotating across team

As an Application Analyst III at Endeavor Health, you will work under the supervision of the IT Applications Manager. You will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, education and management of the systems supported by the Applications division. This includes the support, maintenance and day-to-day management of the Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) environment, currently in place in Radiology, Cardiology, Outpatient Oncology and any other department with electronic image archiving. The Application Analyst III will be a resource to these areas with respect to imaging or other technologies, equipment, construction, IT technical and networking requirements. You will build and understand regulatory requirements in specific outpatient projects to ensure compliance and safety initiatives are met.

Additionally, you will participate in construction projects involving IT and medical equipment requests and provide technical support for patient care equipment issues during construction process.

What you will do:

Customer Service

  • Acts as a liaison between external customers and internal IT teams. Collaborates with IT application analysts, physician office strategies, project management office, programmers, technical services, help desk, telecommunication, vendors, key stakeholders, including cardiologists, radiologists, technologists, and other clinicians and support staff to provide IT services to Endeavor Health and off-site locations.
  • Ensures all IT application systems function optimally. Acts as liaison for PACS concerns for physicians, technologists, clinical staff and support staff.
  • Serves as a professional resource for Endeavor Health personnel to address and resolve problems. Plans, research, and conducts in-service and continuing education programs necessary to improve technical and professional competence of Edward staff. Includes working with the physician community to inform and educate them concerning new and/or updates to current technology and to seek their input regarding future enhancements. Seeks opportunities for continuing education, by attending seminars, conferences, webinars, and networking with peers.
  • Listens to business needs expressed by customers, documents, and executes business and clinical solutions. Conducts meetings with customers. Makes routine rounds in operational area(s), understanding daily work issues by interactions with staff on the floor, identifies business needs and offers solutions based on current and future technologies.
  • Ensures all imaging informatics systems functions optimally. Acts as liaison for IT applications concerns toward physicians, technologists, clinical staff and support staff.

Support and Maintenance

  • Understands PACS specific functions and understands how PACS relates to other information systems. The PACS Administrator will manage the day-to-day operations of the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). Facilitates optimal system performance and ensures that medical image storage, retrieval and distribution is accurate, reliable, timely and conducted in compliance with internal/external policies and regulations. Coordinates with network engineers on the management of the PACS network.
  • Develops and implements Quality Control program to assure effective functioning and maintenance of the PACS system, consistent with QC procedures throughout the organization.
  • Notifies, plans, and coordinates installation with vendor and ISS technical networking personnel to add modality connections, including interfaces to new modalities.
  • Documents change control and system problems according to IT and clinical departmental procedures. Advises Manager and clinical department leadership of potential problems, status of current systems, and requirements for additional services on an ongoing basis. Knows how to use clinical imaging equipment that feeds into PACS. Troubleshoots performance, connectivity, or utilization issues related to imaging equipment.
  • Assesses, develops, implements, documents, manages, maintains, and educates assigned information system applications. Assists in design, development and analysis of healthcare applications and related hardware devices used in healthcare operations. Troubleshoots, documents, and resolves problems in a timely manner for assigned products.
  • Provides on-call support for PACS as required.

Analysis and Data Integrity

  • Revises and optimizes Information Technology applications using appropriate methods and processes for support of quality patient care. Applies research of current healthcare trends to system analysis. Participates in process improvement initiatives and measurement. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards to meet all regulatory requirements, as well as currently accepted legal standards.
  • Analyzes and works with vendor personnel to resolve software communication problems, including modality communication problems, clinical information systems (CIS) communication problems, etc.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures, in cooperation with Information Tehcnology applications and external staff, to assure that system monitoring and effective backup procedures are followed.

Other Responsibilities

  • Documents all aspects of the PACS system access, connectivity, components, backup, storage, area network. Provides written support documentation to the IT Service Center.

What you will need:

Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with three years previous experience in IT or relevant user experience, or
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant IT experience
  • Proficiency in office systems (i.e., Windows, MS office)
  • Familiarity with specific clinical imaging applications such as PACS, voice recognition dictation/transcription, Epic or other enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with specific radiology systems including CR/DR, film printers, image CD burners and other peripherals.
  • Proficiency in configuration of DICOM storage, work list, query/retrieve nodes
  • Previous experience in project management and demonstrate an ability to plan and control a project within a set time frame.
  • Write and control essential project documents such as requirements, proposals, policies, functional specifications, designs, test plans, and acceptances.
  • Ability to anticipate problems, make contingency plans, and adjust schedules, etc., accordingly.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.

Education, Experience and/or Skills Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field or information systems discipline
  • Strong knowledge of network/infrastructure, storage technology, exchange media, archiving, and database management
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 ORU, ORM, and ADT messaging
