Job Description
Position Title: Production Line Lead - 1st or 2nd Shift
Wage: $24.00/hour
Shift: 1st or 2nd
Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm or 4:00pm - 12:30am
QPS Employment Group is seeking a Metal Finishing Line Operator Lead for our client company in Elk Grove Village, IL. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing the efficiency of the finishing line while providing guidance and supervision to other line operators. Your leadership and organizational skills will contribute to the smooth operation of production processes. This company is responsible for precision parts that become components on space, aircraft, and defense systems. Production Line Lead Responsibilities:
- Develop workload schedules with consideration to production demands and on-time delivery requirements
- Delegate various duties among team members with clearly defined instructions
- Follow safety and housekeeping rules to create a safe working environment
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions for process improvement and increased efficiency
- Assist in training and provide guidance to other operators as needed
- Adhere to all applicable safety practices while working with and around hazardous chemicals
- Use basic geometry to calculate surface areas of various parts
- Cross functionally support other lines or work areas as needed and complete other tasks as assigned
- Support company objectives related to effective communication and accurate turnaround
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, periodic testing, and performance evaluations
Requirements for Production Line Lead:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least two years of previous leadership experience in a production environment
- Good computer skills with understanding of Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus
- Able to work overtime and flexible hours as needed
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
