Job Description

Position Highlights:

  • Public Safety Officer
  • Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
  • Full Time, 40 hours / week
  • Sunday- Wednesday
  • 2:30pm - 11:00pm

General Summary:

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Security Officer provides security services to provide a safe and secure environment in the hospital and off- campus locations for all patients, visitors and employees. Monitors and conducts foot patrols of all interior building and hospital grounds responding to all safety and security concerns, codes and requests for assistance. Provides support and physical assistance as required for safety, security, manpower, hazardous materials, medical evacuation and crisis response situations; as well as providing excellent customer service to all.

What you will need:

  • The level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a High School education or equivalent. Working knowledge of the Security Laws in the State of Illinois preferred.
  • Ability to pass NCH written Security Competency Test within 6 months of initial date of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain a minimum standard of American Heart Association Adult Heartsaver CPR and EAD training within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to successfully complete mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Must possess a valid State of Illinois driver's license.
