Target hiring range for this position will be between $22.52-$31.67 per year or per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data

Job Summary:

The Research Specialists support the research efforts of the university and research laboratory.

Join a world-renowned research team and make a significant contribution to the field of bladder research. As a Research Specialist the Meeks Lab, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects using cutting-edge bioinformatics techniques. You will also have the chance to collaborate with world-renowned researchers and make a real difference in the lives of patients.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on a variety of bladder research projects
  • Develop bioinformatics tools and pipelines
  • Participate in lab meetings and discussions
  • Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, submissions, publications, and presentations
  • Serve as PI for certain grants as approved by supervising member of the Professorial Series
  • Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols
  • Contribute to the overall success of the lab

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in bioinformatics, biology, or a related field
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong programming skills in R, Python, or a similar language
  • Experience with a variety of bioinformatics tools and databases
