Job Summary:

The Research Specialists support the research efforts of the university and research laboratory.

As a Research Specialist the Meeks Lab, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects using cutting-edge bioinformatics techniques. You will also have the chance to collaborate with world-renowned researchers and make a real difference in the lives of patients.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on a variety of bladder research projects
• Develop bioinformatics tools and pipelines
• Participate in lab meetings and discussions
• Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data
• Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, submissions, publications, and presentations
• Serve as PI for certain grants as approved by supervising member of the Professorial Series
• Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols
• Contribute to the overall success of the lab

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in bioinformatics, biology, or a related field
• Strong research skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong programming skills in R, Python, or a similar language
• Experience with a variety of bioinformatics tools and databases
