Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor role is central to ensuring a strong field presence, efficient task tracking, and strict adherence to our Preventive Maintenance (PM) system. This position requires hands-on engagement in maintenance operations, vigilant monitoring of task progress, and a commitment to optimizing equipment performance.

As the supervisor for maintenance activities in our chemical plant, the ideal candidate brings extensive experience in this domain. Key attributes include strong communication and supervising skills, proficiency in managing tasks in a unionized environment, and a solid grasp of SAP. Responsibilities
  • Utilize extensive experience in chemical plant maintenance to ensure the efficient functioning of equipment and machinery.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and address any reactive maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain a strong field presence, actively engaging with maintenance teams to understand the evolving needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with teams to evolve and optimize maintenance tasks based on changing operational requirements.
  • Implement a comprehensive system for tracking tasks completion, ensuring all maintenance activities align with established schedules.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in SAP to manage and streamline maintenance workflows.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry, work order creation, and reporting within the SAP system.
  • Navigate and thrive in a unionized environment, understanding and adhering to union agreements and regulations.
  • Foster positive working relationships with union members, addressing concerns proactively.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to provide clear and concise instructions to maintenance teams.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive work culture and motivating teams to achieve maintenance objectives.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms for obtaining feedback from maintenance teams.
  • Use feedback to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and enhance overall maintenance performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance tasks, ensuring documentation aligns with organizational standards.
  • Generate regular reports on tasks completion and field observations.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in chemical plant maintenance, at least 3 years as a supervisor.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP and maintenance management systems.
  • Proven experience in union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills
