Job Description

This Systems Engineer role reports to the Global Quality organization and oversees conducting product performance information (FW, HW and SW) for spearheading the identification, analysis, and resolution of critical product related issues. Their responsibilities include gathering and analyzing field Quality data, performing, and leading root cause analysis and technical research, developing, and implementing quality assurance protocols and processes, reviewing documentation and specifications, and driving corrective actions.

This role closely collaborates with cross functional teams (engineering, field support, product management), utilizing problem solving, RCA and project management oriented tools in addition strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance, implementing adjustments as needed.
  • Participate in customer complaints and field quality investigations, and follow-up activities including implementation and evaluation of corrective action effectiveness.
  • Work with key in functional stakeholders on understanding key customer problems.
  • Drive the resolution of complex problems within tight timelines while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Analyze and investigate root cause analysis on non-conforming products and report, and plan and execute CAR process as required.
  • Drive updates to xFMEA documents according to failure mode occurrence and severity.
  • Manage active list of product improvement and enhancement initiatives driven by field Quality feedback.
  • Liaison with technical development teams (hardware and software), quality teams and production team to help triage the problem and be a go between to the customer for validation of issues.
  • Maintain KPI's and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation of problem-solving strategies, outcomes, and learnings.
  • Be able to interpret customer reports/discussions and translate to actionable tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of customer interactions and transactions in salesforce to include recording details of inquiries, requests, and complaints as well as actions taken.
  • Possible travel to customer sites via car or airplane to assist with understanding key problems that can report back to engineering teams.
  • Compile post visit work summary reports and distribute, as necessary.
  • Develop a sound internal and external communication plan of the problems and status of resolution.
  • Create open and inclusive environment for problem solving.
  • Initiate and keep open communications with core team and associates on issues, updates and findings
  • Use technical documentation like specifications and test reports to support project deliverables.
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering , mechanical engineering, software engineering, computer science or relevant technical field and minimum of three (3) years of job-related experience strongly preferred; or minimum of seven (7) years of job-related experience as defined in the Essential Duties & Responsibilities; an advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience
  • 3+ years of job-related experience with Bachelor's degree in systems, software or electrical engineering
  • Demonstrated APQP and product quality planning methodology
  • Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation & conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to lead, acknowledge, develop, communicate & implement a strategy under crisis situations to ensure compliance. Demonstrated understanding of product development lifecycles, design change and document change control, process verification and validation methodologies, manufacturing / production process control methodologies, and servicing in a medical device environment. Experience in a global working environment.
  • Domestic Travel 25-50% of the time to include overnight travel on short notice. Weekend, and holiday travel may be required depending on market or site need.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience with connected networked systems; experience with wireless communication standards like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
