As we grow, we are seeking an Architectural/Engineering Project Manager/Team Leader for our Private Market project management team.

Responsibilities

Job Summary: In addition to managing projects, this position is responsible for guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to a group of individuals to achieve discipline, team, and individual goals. This position is key in establishing and improving levels of technical competence, quality, efficiency, and the overall financial performance of projects. The position monitors the quantitative and qualitative achievements of both the team and individual Project Manager's, and reports results to the Discipline Director. Experience with multiple Private Market studios/sub-markets; Retail, Hospitality, Mixed Use/Multi-Family, Industrial, and Corporate, is required.

Technical Leadership: Perform project management duties in addition to managing the work of others. Act as subject matter expert providing project deliverable development oversight, creating/refining and implementing technical processes and furnishing technical support to the project managers based on specific Market requirements. Oversee the quality of deliverables prepared by team members, including, but not limited to, fee plans, work plans, risk mitigation plans, and contracts. Train, coach, and mentor staff. Resolve issues impacting project objectives. Lead or support team in scope and budget/pricing development for proposals and dynamic project planning. Support client relationships and business development in support of strategic business plan. Act as key point of internal contact for communication. Identify plan vs. actual performance variances.

People Management: Responsible for supervising, managing, and motivating team members daily to function in a goal-oriented manner. Through supportive leadership, create an inspiring and trusting team environment promoting the growth of team members with an open communication culture. Utilize their expertise, their peers, influence, and/or creativeness to formulate smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Effectively resolves conflict within team by initiating and facilitating communication. Responsible for effective planning and scheduling of workload and performance of team members. Ensures team is right-sized, right-skilled, and managed. Interview and hire team members in collaboration with the Market Leader's, Director of Operations, and Project Management Discipline Director. Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts, escalating issues as needed. Provide ongoing Project Fundamentals training and coaching to team members. Partners with Human Resources for strategic people management duties. Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.

Qualifications
    BA/BS degree in related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related work experience required.
  • PMI Certification (PMP and/or others) preferred but not required.
  • Have an active Professional Registration (Architecture or Engineering)
  • Experience managing goals, expectations, and motivating and directing employees to promote growth, both firm and individual
  • Strong understanding of project management and ability to facilitate technical discussions when needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to negotiate, influence and manage risk.
  • Be able to effectively communicate in both internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.
  • Be able to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information and data.
  • Demonstrate an enterprising, innovative, proactive management approach.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% for local, regional, and national clients and projects. However, this may be up higher depending on the market alignment and clients/project. An acceptable threshold will be established by you and your manager on a yearly basis.
