Position Summary:

In the Director, Accounting position, you'll play a crucial role as a strategic leader. Your responsibilities include ensuring operational accounting accuracy and efficiency, overseeing timely and accurate month-end close and reporting, and establishing a robust internal control environment. Your guidance will drive process improvements, enhance service delivery, and ensure compliance through integrated technology. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other finance partners to manage cash forecasting and financial modeling.

What You'll Do and Impact:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Set clear performance targets and guide team members to achieve them. Employ a collaborative management style and a willingness to support objectives through detailed involvement.

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records, reports, and transactions. Stay updated on accounting standards and financial reporting changes, assessing their impact on the organization. Liaison for interim and final audit fieldwork with external auditors.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

  • Oversee the credit and collections processes, develop policies for customer credit lines, manage overdue accounts, and collaborate with legal teams on collections matters.

  • Analyze monthly DSO and other KPIs, playing a crucial role in process improvements across the company to enhance cash flow.

  • Establish a finance process and systems strategy, ensuring efficient operations, data accuracy, compliance, and governance. Thought leader in AI, technology applications, and industry best practices. Evaluate opportunities for process creation or enhancement in activities that impact financial transactions, influence without authority to be an agent of change.

  • Oversee coordination of Audit Committee meetings and materials.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

  • 10+ years of progressive experience, including experience leading teams directly as well as cross-functional key initiatives

Additional Items of Interest:

  • CPA or work plan to attain designation strongly preferred

  • Commercial trade credit and collection experience preferred
