LaSalle Global Solutions represents LaSalle's fourth business line, operating alongside the three regional direct real estate businesses (Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific). LaSalle Global Solutions is a fully integrated division, dedicated to building robust, indirect and structured investment portfolios by partnering with expert real estate operators across the globe.

With approximately $14.1 billion of AUM across all geographies and risk profiles and a team of ~70 investment professionals located in Chicago, New York, Baltimore, London and Singapore, LaSalle Global Solutions represents one of the largest indirect real estate platforms, globally. The LaSalle Global Solutions team is also supported by the wider resources and established platform of LaSalle including Investor Relations, Legal and Compliance and the global Research and Strategy team.

Objective of Role:

LaSalle Investment Management is currently seeking an Assistant Portfolio Controller. This individual will serve in a lead role to help manage a significant portion of the accounting and reporting process for multiple indirect real estate portfolios utilizing US GAAP and IFRS. This individual will report to the Portfolio Controller.

Responsibilities:

Take a lead role in the quarterly and annual accounting closes, including drafting financial statements and client statements.
Review the work of junior members of the team.
Quarterly financial analysis, including review of accounting information from JV and co-invest partners.
Coordinate quarterly and annual reporting requirements, as well as year-end audit and tax requirements.
Review journal entries and bank reconciliations.
Oversight of cash management and payables (e.g., investor capital calls and distributions, invoice payments, etc.).
Work with the Performance team in calculating, interpreting, and communicating performance returns.
Create efficiency in and effectiveness of the financial reporting process, as well as improve investor services.
Take initiative in identifying problems and providing suggested solutions.
Take the lead on special projects as assigned, working across the global LaSalle Investor Accounting and Finance team and the Global Solutions business line.
Co-ordinate and liaise with third party outsourced accounting & tax providers, JV partners, fund managers, asset managers, investors on finance, reporting & tax matters.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 5-8 years of accounting experience.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
CPA designation is strongly preferred. Candidate will be expected to achieve CPA in order to qualify for future progression.
Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts.
Strong acumen for use of accounting and other related systems. Experience with Yardi Voyager a plus.
Experience in real estate accounting and structures.
Motivated self-starter with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
Ability to think creatively and to take the lead in solving problems.
Strong sense of accountability for quality of own work and the work of the team.
Organized multi-tasker with great attention to detail.
Team player who works independently as well as with others.
Must be willing to work extra hours as necessary.
