About us

Our Business Unit Lighting and Imaging offers challenging lighting and image transmission solutions for applications in the markets of automotive, aviation, medical devices, as well as industrial and safety engineering. With production units in Europe, North-America and the worldwide SCHOTT sales organization Lighting and Imaging is a leading supplier for fiber optic components.

Your Contribution
  • Executes predefined project(s) in support of design and development engineering activities in a manufacturing setting.
  • Prepares project opening and closing presentations.
  • Designs, documents and executes engineering tests as required.
  • Hands-on test of acids for cleaning and etching glass materials for use in fiber optic products.
  • Coordinates and executes experiments, compiles data, documents results and writes technical reports with conclusions.
  • Recommends engineering changes and document revisions as required.
Your Profile
  • 2+ years towards a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience or studies with acids, adhesives, epoxies, and other chemicals used in manufacturing processes (preferred).
  • Motivated worker, eager to learn new things. Innovative, self-starter, willing to work with a minimum of supervision. However, willing to seek help when needed.
  • Strong technical acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Able and willing to work with others on a team.
  • Ability to work with, understand, and control complex equipment.
  • Computer literate using Microsoft Office products: (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations.
  • Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.
