Molex is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to lead and administer the facility safety, health environment and energy programs to provide a safe and healthy working environment for personnel, and to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations at our Molex facility in Bolingbrook, IL.

Successful employees will be able to demonstrate leadership, problem solving, judgement, and knowledge sharing in their role to affect the operation of the facility and the company in a positive manner.

This position will have some travel requirements.


Our Team

Molex Supply Chain Hub in Bolingbrook, IL is the flagship distribution facility for Molex Americas delivering last-mile-magic to industrial, automotive, and electrical distributors.


What You Will Do

  • Implementation of corporate safety and environmental, or equivalent site-specific programs and required written documentation to support these programs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the safety, health & environmental functions for the assigned facility and partners with onsite management and other resources to ensure local program ownership and accountability.
  • Conduct safety, health & environmental compliance self-audits, support external audits and hold an annual review of the safety, health & environmental management system with the management team.
  • Conducts hazard assessments, recommends appropriate protective measures (engineering controls, administrative controls, or personal protective equipment), and communicates the assessment results to management representatives and employees.
  • Compiles and submits legally required EHS reports (includes all reports required under federal, state, or local agencies.).
  • Assures the appropriate, effective, and timely distribution of all required safety and environmental training programs for the facility including performance of training.
  • EHS - Direct accident investigation programs, to determine root cause, assist in closing out action items, develop accident trends, and develop programs for improving performance.
  • Provide direction to establish and sustain a positive company safety, health & environmental culture both on and off the job.
  • Update and maintain the chemical management system and all Safety Data Sheets on location.
  • Expanding into regional responsibility as the lead EHS provisional for two Americas supply chain hubs.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Five years or more Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, health, or environmental science
  • Associated Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification
  • Strong computer skills are needed to be able to conduct research, to create reports, and to analyze data
