General job summary

The Electrical Engineer will improve and modify automated production machinery according to department requirements. This role will design and implement automated production machinery and control systems (i.e. electrical schematic drawings, list of materials, panel layout and wiring, PLC and control system programming and, testing).

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Design and implement automated production machinery and control systems.

* Plan layout and connect electric power and control wires between machines and equipment.

* Identify weak points of production process and make improvement.

* Work with mechanical engineers, mechanics and lead people to diagnose faulty machinery.

* Troubleshoot automated production machinery, conduct root cause analysis and repair as needed.

* Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic components of machine such a PLC and CNC modules, MMI's, Drives, Motors, Relays, Position Sensing Devises, Printed Circuit Boards, etc.

* Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.

* Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

* Create SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for direct reports.

* Prepare and provide training for Entry Level Electrical Engineers/Technicians

* Stay informed of Technology Changes and Industry Best Practices to effectively enhance organizational performance, development, and revenue.

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education.

* Ability to create, read, and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to collaborate with vendors to design/ implement, install, start up, duplicate, and overhaul etc. automated production machinery.

* Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, and schedule format.

* Knowledge of Manufacturing and Microsoft Software is required.

* Ability to Interact and communicate effectively interdepartmentally.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB

* Majority of work is in a plant/manufacturing environment.

* Must be able to stand for long periods of time. This role also requires occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling /crouching, and crawling.

* Ability to lift equipment up to 10lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.

* Comfortable working amongst moving mechanical parts, fumes/airborne particles/toxic or caustic chemicals.

* Risk of electrical shock and vibration.

* Occasional exposure to high precarious places and outside weather conditions.

* Comfortable working in "High Noise" work environment.

* Comfortable wearing safety gear such as hard hats, steel toe boots/shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
